Visited Bharat's exhibition today
Its a big thing to put on a solo exhibition my friend Barat Patel has an exhibition "Nomads of India through the Lens” at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Well worth a visit with some great quality large prints.
There are numerous nomadic communities in India who have played an important role in society for many generations. Tragically they are now some of the most marginalised people of India. The specialised trades of these nomadic communities have meant that settling in one place was virtually impossible. Without addresses or birth certificates they are invisible to the authorities. This exhibition depicts their present lifestyle, showing some of the problems and prejudices they face from society in general, as well as the influence The Raj has had in branding some of these communities as criminals.
One NGO is trying to turn the tide for these nomads and their story forms part of the exhibition.
The Exhibition runs from 14th September to 15th December 2014
At “The Link Gallery” (level ‘0’),
John Radcliffe Hospital,
Headley Way,
Headington,
Oxford OX3 9DU.

In the middle of the night
Still ploughing through my images from my trip to Landschaftspark
On one of the nights we were out and about the place and came across this 4 piece making a vid for their latest release, tried a few slow shutter shots then racked the ISO up.

Photocrowd
Found this new Photography website Photocrowd, competitions with a set brief, voting on the images and not the photographer. giving it all a go to re spark my photography.
The current brief is
The technique of panning allows us a brief moment of rebellion against the stillness of photography. Slow your shutter speed and capture the energy of moving objects.
Always trying to think different I have been trying some multiple exposures while panning with a wide angle lens.

landschaftspark
If you are into industrial rust and pipes then landschaftspark in
Germany is the place to visit, 24 hour access to a row of blast furnaces
and all the infrastructure that goes with it to manufacture pig iron.
I spent a few days there earlier in the year these are the first of the many pictures I have to share.
